It's Not About the Bunny

I saw a great billboard on a major highway leading up to Easter weekend, "It's Not About the Bunny." That's all that was on there. We forget about that I suppose with all merchandising and such. While it truly isn't about the bunny, I think Easter is a time for celebration and having a fun time with family and friends all while appreciating the deep meaning behind the holiday.

We were fortunate enough to visit with family in San Antonio over the Easter holiday this year. The Wolf grandparents spent the holiday with us and we made a trip to SA more because we know they had never visited San Antonio and we wanted to take them and Abigail to Sea World. Galan grandparents, Mike & Sally (Godparents) and cousins Laura and Jay met us in SA too!

In preparation, mommy made Easter baskets for everyone (the grandparents, cousins, and all!). Here are a few...as well as some other pics from our Easter Sunday.

Oree's Easter basket!

Daddy's Easter basket...

Mommy's Easter Basket (Daddy gave me this basket about 5 years ago with some treats and flowers and I've saved it and used it as my Easter basket every since then!)

This was Abigail's Easter basket. You can't see the bunny, but Uncle Dave and Diana gave her a fun bunny for her birthday and we made him our Easter bunny! This basket was our wedding basket collecting envelopes and cards at the wedding reception (since we got married over Easter weekend). It's been Abigail's Easter basket ever since then!

My favorite Easter bunny!

My bunny cake broke! I make one every year for Daddy's bday when his bday falls close to Easter.

Here it is all decorated!

Trying to eat up some cereal before heading to church!

Me with the Wolf Grandparents!

Me with my parents!

Abigail giving her Easter bunny a kiss (Aunt Sally, Uncle Mike, Laura and Jay gave it to her!). She ate lunch with it sitting in the high chair behind her!

Oh what a face!

The only Easter bunny she'll take a photo with!

Another Abigail Face!

Running away from Mommy and Daddy! Love this pic and her arm positions and her Easter bonnet! :)

My sweet baby girl!!
