METAMORPHEUS

Yes, that was what she called it. She had asked Santa for a butterfly for Christmas along with Princess Belle. And boy did Santa deliver. We got a beautiful butterfly garden complete with 5 caterpillars. We watched the caterpillars grow bigger and bigger every day and then one day the formed chrysalids and started to hang from the top of the lid.

This is the top.

We had to transport the chrysalis to their garden.

and then...a beautiful thing happened days later...our first butterfly came to be! This was sooooo neat to see and Abigail LOVED it. She learned all about the process and we bought carnations to feed them too! She took them to school for Show & Tell even!

the day it snowed for what seemed forever...

We ventured out to see our friends the Greiders who live up the road to see if we could do some sledding. Well, the winds were too cold so we took some pictures here and there instead. We also took some at home.

DADDY WINS, WE ALL WIN!

Daddy won one of his Fantasy Football Leagues and so we celebrated. We found a chocolate football and presented him with his prize that he maybe not so voluntarily shared with us!!

Mommy took a BITE.

NEW YEAR'S EVE!

So, we celebrated at home quietly and early. Our last little New Year's Eve as a family of 3 (not counting Oree the dog). We decided to make our own favors and we got some neat paper from mommy's stash of scrapbooking materials, some foam stick on letters and some masks we had on hand and beads. We got decked out and celebrated at 8pm! We let Abigail stay up an hour later until 9pm. It was nice! We had pear juice and toasted to the new year. Mom and Dad stayed up and watched a movie and rang in the New Year and went to bed just after midnight.
Happy 2011!!

OREE ENJOYING HER BONE!!
